Purpose Protein labeling, peptide labeling
Characteristics IRDye 800CW DBCO (dibenzocyclooctyne group) enables bioorthogonal chemistry to be performed without the need for heavy metal catalysts. IRDye 800CW DBCO provides the functionality for preferential labeling of molecules that contain azide groups (-N3) with IRDye 800CW. Within physiologically relevant temperature and pH ranges, the reactive group of the IRDye 800CW DBCO is inert toward naturally occurring nucleophiles such as amines and hydroxyls. Reaction of the DBCO group with the azide group is significantly faster than with the sulfhydryl group (-SH, thiol).
